MATCH (Mothers and Their Children) helps children stay connected to their mothers while their mothers are in prison. MATCH is located at the North Carolina Correctional Institution for Women (NCCIW) in Raleigh, North Carolina. We provide a safe, welcoming, home-like place where children can spend quality time with their mothers during visits.

MATCH does more than help with visits. We offer parenting classes, emotional support, and help with travel costs so families can get to Raleigh. We also host special events that give mothers and children positive experiences together. Everything we do is based on the belief that a strong relationship between a mother and child is essential to a child’s emotional health and development.

Studies show that children with an incarcerated parent are much more likely to struggle with behavior and other serious challenges. MATCH works to change that. Our programs help children feel loved, supported, and connected, even during a difficult time in their lives.

Through MATCH, children learn an important message: their mothers care about them, they are not forgotten, and they deserve love, stability, and hope for the future.
