“It means so much to be able to see my children ... to hold them and let them know that I love them so much. I have never stopped loving them.” --MATCH mom

MATCH children who live in North Carolina are scattered across the state, often separated from their mothers by long stretches of highway and circumstance. For many, a single visit requires traveling 125 miles one way—a journey that can take an entire day. For families already carrying the financial and emotional weight of incarceration, the cost of gas, food, and time away from work can make these visits feel painfully out of reach.

MATCH steps in so that distance doesn’t become another barrier between a mother and her child. Caregivers receive gas assistance when money is tight, and volunteers lovingly drive children who live closer to Raleigh so they never miss the chance to see their mom. For children living out of state, MATCH ensures they can come to Raleigh twice each year, giving them precious moments of connection that would otherwise be lost.

And MATCH’s support doesn’t stop at visits. Throughout the year, children receive holiday surprises, birthday celebrations, and back‑to‑school gifts—small but powerful reminders that their mother’s love is still present, still reaching for them, even across the walls that separate them.
