Yazmin Coleman

Yazmin initially pursued a degree in Nursing at North Carolina Central University (NCCU). However, God had another plan for her, and she completed a Bachelor’s in Social Work instead. Recognizing her potential, Yazmin’s professors at NCCU encouraged her to apply for graduate school. With their support and her dedication, she secured a HRSA grant and was accepted into the Advanced Standing Program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and North Carolina A&T. Yazmin completed her Master’s in Social Work in just 10 months, during which she built a strong professional network that has greatly influenced her career.

Yazmin is now a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has been in the behavioral health field since 2016. She has extensive experience working in various settings, including inpatient care at Holly Hill, as an Assertive Community Treatment Team Lead, a school-based therapist for youth, and providing outpatient therapy for adolescents and families. She holds six active licenses across five states and is currently working towards her LCAS.

Yazmin now serves as a Clinical Supervisor for provisionally licensed clinicians in North Carolina. Additionally, she has become a businesswoman, co-founding HeadStrong Wellness Inc. and Headstrong Communities Inc. with Dr. Reba Royster. These organizations focus on educating young athletes about mental health and effective stress management. Yazmin also owns Families of Enrichment PLLC, where she offers clinical supervision for provisionally licensed Social Workers and contracts with local behavioral health agencies.

A Certified Dialectical Behavioral Health Therapist and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Yazmin prioritizes self-care by working out and spending time with family and friends.
