from this month’s speaker:

Lindsay Jackson is the Administrative Director at FIRST at Blue Ridge. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from NC State University and is a North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist. Lindsay is a qualified professional with almost 11 years of working experience at the facility. She is a recovery ally and is passionate about the field of reentry. Lindsay specializes in working with individuals with a history of substance use disorder and has been an advocate and mentor for countless individuals as they transform their lives one day at a time. She believes wholeheartedly in a helping hand to those in need.

Professionally, Lindsay provides direct oversight to the admissions department at FIRST. She has been an integral part of expanding the program’s service initiatives, such as short- and long-term treatment for individuals with a history of substance use disorder, transitional housing, clinical services for homeless Veterans, and jail diversion. She serves on several work groups and committees including the SRCC Local Team (Reentry, Housing, Diversion), the Racial Equity Workgroup and Diversion Subcommittee in Western North Carolina, the Inclusivity Caucus, Diversion/Reentry Committee, Veteran’s Working Group of Buncombe County’s Homeless Initiative Advisory Committee, Job Readiness Advisory Council, Burke Substance Abuse Network, and the Buncombe and McDowell County Reentry Councils. She is the committee chair for the local SRCC Team and Human Rights Committee as part of the Julian F. Keith Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Center.

Lindsay is a builder of bridges and strives to help those in her acquaintance. Whether from a simple introduction from one person to the next or by working collaboratively with State and local agencies to develop programs over time, she is well recognized by her peers as someone to go to for quality reentry work. In her downtime, she loves spoiling her sweet rescue pit bull named Blu and spending time with family. A loving daughter, sister, and wife, she always makes it a point to stay close and keep family and friends first.
